Hot Press shut down

MUSIC MAGAZINING in Australia’s pretty tough, if the recent toll is anything to go by Hot Press - another heavily syndicated mag, this time sourcing its material from Irish mag of the same name - may have just outlasted Nylon, folding after about a year, according to The Brag. Or have they just moved?

  2. For finance, but surely not art. I guess the kind of music journalism that involves scouring the press release for clues, emailing a list of questions and then restructuring the release and questions into an article could probably be put together using a neural network. But can you really imagine great feature writers being replaced by algorithms?

  3. Of course ‘GREAT feature writers’ won’t be replaced by algorithms . . . . . but none of us would notice if the other 99% were.

  4. Ben Butler confirmed Hot Press’s gone, but their other mag Riot’s still around though.
