Backgrounder

I live in Sydney, Australia, and occasionally make radio shows, write articles and work in TV.

I blogged here for ages, but am now more likely to be blogging about my neighbourhood at darlinghurstnights.com, and about ideas at ideas.fortunegrey.com.

I used to present this great show called Canvas on FBI Radio – you can still hear the podcasted interviews here.

I also edited this brilliant magazine called Cyclic Defrost with a bunch of great people.

Some other things I’ve done include: interviewing the lovely Christos Tsiolkas at Sydney Writers Festival 2009, which you can see thanks to The Monthly’s Slow TV); playing records before and after Caribou at the Sydney Festival in 2008, which you can download here).

I’ve been a geologist, geophysicist and seismologist, science communicator in urban and climate science, and print, radio and TV media maker.
